Wetpaint: Vampyrer i The Big Apple

What was New York City like in the ‘70s? We’ll soon find out on The Vampire Diaries

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be our tour guide, according to what Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly. The show will flash back to the bell-bottom era, but don’t expect a disco inferno.

Based on some casting spoilers, it sounds like the scene will be a little punkier. Damon relives a time in his life in the ’70s when he was not so well behaved,” says Julie Plec.

Ah, Damon’s misspent eternal youth.

Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon, and Rebekah (Claire Holt) will also road trip to modern day NYC.

We’re not exactly sure what they’re doing there, but our guess is searching for the villainous Katherine (Nina Dobrev) — and hopefully buying some of those “I <3 NY” shirts for everyone they left back in Mystic Falls.

Vampire Diaries - It's prom time!

While our prom had corsages, floor-length gowns we never wore again, and over-served minors vomiting in limos, it was still lacking something: vampires. The Mystic Falls crew won’t have that problem in an upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries!

Back in September 2012, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) told Entertainment Weekly that she’d love to do a prom episode. According to a new casting call from Cherrix Casting’s Facebook page, her wish is coming true.
“Vampire Diaries is looking for extras to work our prom scene in Decatur, Ga. Wed Feb 26th, Thurs 27th, Fri 28th, and Mon Mar 4th,” the call reads. Based on our calculations, Season 4, Episode 19 should be filming around that time. It won’t air until mid-April, though — just in time for real-life proms.

Question: Will it be tacky to wear a tiara while we watch the episode?

Ny promobild för säsong 4 + spoilers

Elena has lost a lot — her family, her sanity (temporarily), the Miss Mystic Falls pageant — but is her humanity really the next thing to go? Perhaps they’re referring to her new bloodsucker status... or maybe it’s not quite so literal.

Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) seemed to think Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) was the new vampire’s last tie to her old self, telling Damon that if Elena’s little brother were dead, she’d have no reason to become human again.

Someone is leaving Mystic Falls — and we can see how losing Jer would send Elena over the edge.

Then again, that’s not the lil’ Gilbert who’s lurking behind her...

_____________

Damon eller Jeremy..? Eller så är vi bara helt ute och cyklar.

Ännu en säsong för Vampire Diaries

The first wave of The CW’s early pickups are in, and — naturally — The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for a Season 5.

Arrow and Supernatural will also return for more seasons. Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, said in a statement, “We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that.”

According to the press release,TVD is The CW’s highest rated series in target demographics, including adults 18-34 and women 18-34. Digitally and socially, the show is one of the network’s top-ranked as well.

Now, all The CW has to do is make The Originals spin-off into a done deal, and we’ll be all set!

4x12 A View To Kill - spoilers

"In Season 4, Episode 12, “A View to a Kill,” the mayor, aka Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) dad, cancels the ‘80s Decade Dance, which promised to be the Fraggle Rock-iest of them all. Since Bex has a history of missing school dances, Stefan finds a way to recreate the magic, so she can still wear a Debbie Gibson-inspired ensemble."

The Vampire Diaries 2013 spoiler - Who will..

It’s that time of year again: Another huge death on The Vampire Diaries is looming. Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) told TV Guide that in an upcoming script, a certain character’s demise made her cry.

And this isn’t one of those “Gone for two minutes and miraculously brought to life” things. This is permanent, no-going-back, goodbye forever

“It's actually one of the biggest deaths since the beginning of The Vampire Diaries," says Kat. “It will completely alter everything."

There’s already been speculation about Caroline’s (Candice Accola) fate, but it sounds like everyone is in peril.

Så någon kommer att dö.. och det är stort.. och det kan vara Caroline..
Om jag ska vara ärlig så är det här mer än vad jag klarar av.

Daniel Gillies (Elijah) i "The Originals"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel will join Joseph Morgan (Klaus) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) in the April 25 backdoor pilot.

Though he’s also currently working on the Canadian show Saving Hope, Daniel’s filming schedule for the spin-off isn’t expected to interfere.

TVD executive producer Julie Plec said she’d love for Daniel to be part of the new show, but the ball was entirely in his court. Since we can’t get enough of either Mr. Gillies or Elijah, we’re delighted he wanted to head to New Orleans!

4x10 After School Special - logic fails

The Vampire Diaries is a show where witches can bring people back from the dead, vampires kiss humans instead of ripping their throats out, and werewolves have silky smooth chests when they haven’t transformed. And we accept all of this without blinking an eye. Yet it’s the little things that make us scoff and say, “That would never happen.” Check out the biggest logic fails from Season 4, Episode 10, “After School Special.”

This is what the Originals use compulsion for?
Compulsion is clearly a tricky thing. Use it too much, and it loses its impact. If it’s only pulled out for really big things, we start to wonder why the Originals haven’t done it much more often. That’s what happened this time. Sure, Rebekah (Claire Holt) started off wanting info about the cure, but by having her compelled group end up playing truth or dare, it reminded us of all the times that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) could’ve gotten the truth out of Stefan (Paul Wesley). Maybe it’s time to order some vervain off the internet and start building up an immunity?

Training ground
Much as we love to see Matt (Zach Roerig) included in things, shouldn’t Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) pick on someone his own size? Sure, the QB is buff, but with Jer’s hunter strength, it’s no contest. That’s why the little Gilbert is in no way ready to face a town full of vampires!

Shouldn’t you do that in private?
The Sheriff briefed the new mayor in the Mystic Grill, where Stefan also sat getting nicely toasted on bourbon. Yep, nothing to see here! Just gratuitous talk of coverups and underaged teens ditching school to drink hard liquor.

Cool artifact, teach!
Not to quote Indiana Jones, but when we saw Qetsiyah’s creepy bone necklace, we thought to ourselves, “That belongs in a museum!” Yet Bonnie (Kat Graham) just happily takes her mentor’s gift without asking how he got a 2,000-year-old witch’s charm. Let’s hope she asks a few more questions before raising Silas for Professor Shane (David Alpay).

Is this burning an eternal flame?
It was a nice scene, Caroline (Candice Accola) finding a naked Tyler (Michael Trevino) by his mother’s memorial. But really, Mystic Falls High? You left all those candles lit? Talk about a fire hazard!

You’re free to leave.
Bex sics Tyler on the whole group, then she just lets them leave when the transformed werewolf fails to bite them. At this point, she still believes they can help her find the cure, so why did she let them go? And wouldn’t killing Elena (Nina Dobrev) get back at Klaus very nicely?

4x11 Catch Me If You Can - bilder

4x11 Catch Me If You Can
Jeremy is furious when Klaus tries to control him by putting Matt’s life in danger. Damon coaches Jeremy as he prepares to take on Klaus’ new vampires, but they find that Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) has beaten them to it. Kol makes it clear that he will stop at nothing to convince everyone to give up the search for the cure. Looking for a new ally, Rebekah reminds Stefan that they were once close friends. When Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Hopkins (guest star Rick Worthy) question Shane about his involvement in the Founders’ Council deaths, Bonnie steps in with questions of her own, and Shane’s responses push Bonnie to the edge of her powers. Elena negotiates with Klaus to keep Jeremy safe, but when danger suddenly appears from a totally unexpected enemy, Elena comes up with her own daring plan for Jeremy.

4x10 After School Special - spoilers

Ever since we saw this sneak peek clip of Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 10, “After School Special,” we’ve just wanted to hide under the covers with a tube of cookie dough and a worry stone. Rebekah (Claire Holt), what have you done with Caroline (Candice Accola)?!

Normally, we’d say nothing fatal could happen to the non-Original blond. Torture? Sure. A stake to the heart? No way. But now we’re not so sure.

In the clip, Caroline wanders the halls of Mystic Falls High, ready to stake Bex. Instead, the Original sis finds Stefan (Paul Wesley). “I hope you’re not waiting for Caroline to show up and stake me,” she tells him. “Because I already found her.”

Menacing! But Caroline’s probably fine, right? Well, there are two reasons to worry: One, TVLine spoiled that the overachieving cheerleader might die, and two, Caroline isn’t in the next two synopses.

Add to that the fact that a werewolf-version of Tyler (Michael Trevino) is on the loose, and it means that any number of Mystic Falls dangers could do-in Caroline.

Want to borrow our worry stone?

4x10 After School Special - spoilers

We’re not going to say we haven’t missed Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) — that face! — but we were pretty nervous when he showed up in a preview for Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 10, “After School Special.” For one thing, he was eye-flirting the heck out of Bonnie (Kat Graham)!

Claire Holt (Rebekah) recently told Entertainment Weekly why Bex’s baby-faced bro is back in town. “He’s there to help Rebekah get the answers that she wants, and he brings Shane [David Alpay] to the school for questioning as well,” says Claire. “The result isn’t too great for Shane.” We get the feeling running into Kol is almost never ends well.

So both Rebekah and Kol want the cure. Considering how Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has treated both his siblings, it seems unlikely they’ll hand it over so he can turn Elena (Nina Dobrev) human again. But will they really just destroy the cure and be done with it? Seems kind of anticlimactic.

Regardless, Mystic Falls is stuck with Kol for quite some time

The Vampire Diaries' Biggest Liars of Season 4

Lying has always been an integral part of the Mystic Falls dynamic, and Season 4 is no exception. But which characters rank as the biggest liars thus far?

ShaneFrom day one, this guy has been lying. Much of his lying comes about through the act of omission. He stays busy by not telling Bonnie that Expression is the worst thing ever, not telling us why he really wants to resurrect Silas, and not telling anyone who he’s working with at any given moment. He might be hot, but boy is he a liar.

Hayley: At first, we thought Hayley was just some chick Tyler hung out with in the woods. Then she slowly became his slightly annoying werewolf friend who was helping him unsire hybrids. And then it turned out that she was working with Shane, who we’ve already established as the ultimate liar. Plus, she got all the hybrids killed. Needless to say, we do not trust this chick.

Damon and ElenaIf we’re being honest, Damon and Elena are two of the biggest liars this season. The two of them have been lying to Stefan about everything to do with their relationship since their dance (and more) in front of the fireplace. We take that back. They’ve been lying since they dirty danced together, if not before.

Tyler: Tyler spent the first half of Season 4 unsiring hybrids and plotting a revolution against Klaus. He was lying the entire time, albeit for a good cause. Plus, there was the whole pretending-to-cheat-on-Caroline thing, but that hardly counts. Basically, Tyler was lying to protect the people he loves/loved. We still trust him, but we doubt Klaus feels the same.

KlausOK, we aren’t exactly sure what Klaus has directly lied about thus far, but we get the feeling that he knows way more than he’s telling us. He fessed up about The Five and the cure and all that, but at any point in time, Klaus is lying about something … even if it’s just his feelings for Caroline.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Spoiler: Is Stefan Moving On...

Next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries presents a lot of exciting opportunities. Originals are back in Mystic Falls, Jeremy is back in a wife beater, Rebekah wants revenge and so on. But there’s one thing that we are dying to see. Dying.

In eight days, Stefan and Elena will come face to face for the first time since he found out about her rendezvous with Damon. Based on the Season 4, Episode 10, “After School Special” preview, in which Stefan tells Elena that she ripped his heart out, the younger Salvatore’s reaction is about what you’d expect: He’s angry, and he’s upset. But how is Stefan going to continue to deal with all of this Delena action?

TV Guide reports that Stefan’s spiral has only just begun. When he learns just how deeply Elena feels for Damon, he’s going to find himself in a dark place. But, luckily, there’s somewhere who wants to help him. She’s hot. And she’s a blonde.

The question is: Are we talking about some bestie bonding with Caroline, or is this another hot blonde?! Could Stefan find a rebound girl? Could it be Rebekah? Someone new?!

And if that’s the case, will Elena be able to handle seeing him move on?

Nina Dobrev’s Turning 24 and She’s Inviting You to Her Birthday!

With all of her fame and success, it’s hard to believe that Nina Dobrev is only 24... but that’s exactly how old she’s turning on January 9! “I’m having a Birthday Party - you’re all invited!” the Vampire Diaries star tweeted. The question is, just where is this fabulous fete going to be?

Turns out, the 2013 People’s Choice Awards happen to be on the same day as that of the brunette beauty’s birth! “It's my party and I'll TRY to win a PCA if I want to,” Nina joked.

OK, so you can’t walk the red carpet alongside the star, but you can watch from the comfort of our own home — and you don’t even have to wear an uncomfortable, impossible-to-breath-in dress!

There is one requirement, though. “NO gifts please!” Nina tweeted. “I don’t want anyone spending $ on me.”

You could, however, donate money to Ian Somerhalder’s foundation. We’re pretty sure she’d accept that generosity as a gift!

Wetpaint - Ian Somerhalder i 'Time Framed'

'Ian Somerhalder is a man of many talents, and now he’s showing us he can kick butt on top of everything else! Starring in a new series of short films entitled Time Framed, the Vampire Diaries star is unleashing his inner James Bond... and an environmentally-minded one at that!

As Agent Black, Ian is tasked with putting a stop to corrupt masterminds who want to steal an energy device that will deliver clean power to the world. Ian suits up, fights femme fatales, and even drives eco-friendly sports cars.

Talk about thrilling and beneficial!'

Wetpaint har sett trailern till avsnitt 4x10, “After School Special", och gjort en analys av den.

0:01 Thursday, January 17
Don’t try to distract us from that giant fireball by informing us Vampire Diaries is on hiatus until January 17, promo. What the heck is that fireball? Were the Mayans right?

0:02 We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street
Someone’s been hitting the sauce.

0:03 Oh, it’s Tyler.
Well, if anyone has an excuse...

0:04 Calling from beyond the grave.
Never, ever pick up the phone when the caller is supposed to be dead.

0:06 Bruised Bex?
Vamps, especially Originals, heal up right quick. Is that just a shadow, or has someone done permanent damage to Rebekah’s face?

0:07 The Originals Are Back
All of them? ‘Cause there are a lot.

0:08 Klaus visits the Gilbert lake house
Lovely day for a visit. We assume there’s nothing sinister about it at all.

0:10 Super spar
Who’s that Jeremy is fighting with? It better not be Matt. Pick on someone your own supernatural size!

0:14 Klaus suddenly isn’t a Death Eater
The OV is no longer a fan of Jeremy’s dark mark.

0:15 Donde esta la biblioteca?

The kids decide it might be time for some book learnin’. Just kidding. They’re just there to fight.

0:16 And they’re off.
This episode is supposed to be like The Breakfast Club, though we doubt they’re running from the assistant principal.

0:17 Kooooooooooool!
Baby Original is back.

0:18 Flirty eyes
Is Bonnie giving Kol a come-hither look?

0:19 Schooled
Stefan and Elena hash out their issues. This could take a while.

0:20 Dunk tank
It looks like someone doesn’t approve of Shane’s teaching methods. Right? That’s Shane, right? It’s all happening so fast! Carol Lockwood flashbacks. Eek!

0:23 Jeremy’s in charge
Always trust a guy who looks this good in a tank top. That’s just good advice.

0:31 Um, excuse us?
Where’s Elijah. We were told the Originals are back, and it’s just not the same without him.

Så det verkar som om Originalfamiljen är tillbaka. Men var är Elijah? Kommer han också tillbaka eller måste vi vänta ännu längre för att se honom?

Wetpaint - Spoilers For Season 4, Episode 10: “After School Special”

Vampire Diaries Spoilers For Season 4, Episode 10: “After School Special” — Who’s the New Mayor?

"Mystic Falls works fast. The town probably assumes its elected officials could die at any minute, so they likely have a list of people who are ready to serve as backup for each position.

A lot of them were probably taken out in the Town Council explosion, so they’re bringing in someone we haven’t seen before: Rudy Hopkins, aka Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) dad.

Julie Plec tells TV Guide, “He's been caught up to speed and filling in the blanks of information that he knew or didn't know over the years so now he's playing both the role of concerned mayor for the town and concerned father for his daughter.”

Of course, the witch isn’t exactly pleased when her dad becomes involved in her comings and goings. We wonder if this has anything to do with her new friend Professor Shane (David Alpay). It seems like Rudy finds the teacher as shady as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) does."

Wetpaint SPOILER - Season 4, Episode 9

"The spoiler that someone we’ve known since Season 1 will die has been circulating, and now, Entertainment Weekly has a list of candidates. Prepare yourself. We’re losing one of the following:

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen)
Bonnie (Kat Graham)
Tyler (Michael Trevino)
Matt (Zach Roerig)
Carol Lockwood (Susan Walters)
Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre)

We’ve speculated why BonnieTylerMatt, and Jeremy are in danger already. The sheriff and the mayor not so much, mostly because we’ve barely seen them this season. We’re pretty sure Carol was at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, but she was drowned out by all that taffeta.

It could easily be either of those ladies, even though their biggest problem — the Town Council — was solved very neatly by Pastor Young’s explosion. TVD just loves to kill off the group’s parental figures. Now that Bonnie’s father is making his debut, maybe Mystic Falls has reached its quota for people over the age of 25."

Wetpaint - Who Is TV’s Hottest Brotherly Duo?

"Oh, brothers.

Brotherly love can be a delicious thing, especially when it involves sexy sibling pairings like The Vampire Diaries’ Salvatore brothers or Supernatural’s Winchester brothers.

Of the following twosomes, which double dose of handsome makes you want to sign up for some quality family time?"
