“I mean, when I read the finale the main thing I wanted to know is, 'Who's going to get the cure?' That's what I was the most excited about — who on earth is going to get the cure?
I can tell you it's not what you think. I can tell you that it's going to be... I think it's going to be a surprise for everyone. It certainly took me unawares.”

"What we’ve seen about Silas in the caves is that he can appear as a hallucination. So the question is, is that what’s happening here? Or is he physically standing before [Bonnie]? Does he look like Shane? Is he taking on Shane’s form? What is going on? What is this guy capable of?
As far as we know, Shane on the island has met his terrible demise, although we did not see him take his last breath. You never know on this show.
Bonnie is being extremely controlled and manipulated right now by this Shane/Silas figure. We’ll see that escalate over the next several episodes to its breaking point."
- Julie Plec om Shane och Silas

Nina Dobrev pratar om trion

"Something happens in the near future, something pretty tragic and terrible and kind of show changing. It's going to really affect every single person. It's going to especially affect Damon, Elena and Stefan in a pretty crazy, controversial way. The whole show is going to shift. It's going to be explosive."

Julie Plec pratar om Caroline

“Caroline will find herself stuck in the middle of the terrible tensions between Klaus and Tyler, leading her to put her own life on the line to try to resolve their issue.”

- Julie Plec

Så.. Caroline kommer alltså att råka illa ut? Ojoj..

Daniel Gillies (Elijah) pratar om Flashbacks i "The Originals"

“It will be about both the contemporary [story] — where we are now and what we are up to — and also will flash back to show what the f**k happened to us to bring us to this moment,” Daniel explained.

The show is set in New Orleans, and executive producer Julie Plec will show the city today and throughout the early 20th century, when the Originals first lived there.

The Vampire Diaries 2013 spoiler - Who will..

It’s that time of year again: Another huge death on The Vampire Diaries is looming. Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) told TV Guide that in an upcoming script, a certain character’s demise made her cry.

And this isn’t one of those “Gone for two minutes and miraculously brought to life” things. This is permanent, no-going-back, goodbye forever

“It's actually one of the biggest deaths since the beginning of The Vampire Diaries," says Kat. “It will completely alter everything."

There’s already been speculation about Caroline’s (Candice Accola) fate, but it sounds like everyone is in peril.

“Rebekah has always wanted to be human; that's been hinted throughout that she wants to feel human, she wants to feel normal. She's going to face that conflict of does she want to give up the vampire life, does she really want to be human badly enough? You're going to see that conflict within her."

“She will always have feelings for Matt, she wanted there to be something between them but I think now that this cure has come to light, it's going to be more about that. I don't think there's much hope for Rebekah and Matt at the moment, but you never know.”

What can you say about Season 4, Episode 5, “The Killer”?

I like that episode. I think April has a really funny turn in it, coming from her being so active in the town because she doesn’t have anything to go home to. It's a good episode. I loved doing that episode. I got to work with Zach Roerig, and I really liked working with him.

Is he just being protective of her because he's the other resident human?

I think Matt's going to always be protective.

But is it more of a brother/sister type thing. Should we be reading into a potential romance, or is she just too young?

That would depend on if you asked Matt or April.

Do tell.

I think in the episode you saw today, you can see there's a little bit of a crush.

Julie Plec om säsong 4 - intervju

Elena is going through some changes – to put it bluntly.
She is. She’s not having a lot of fun yet.
Now that Elena’s exploring her new state of being as a vampire, will this force her to open her mind up?
Elena becoming a vampire, in a way, is an awakening of a person who is about to go through a lot of changes – some for the better and some for the worse, some for the darker and some for the lighter. In all that, she is going to evolve as a person and her relationships are going to evolve accordingly. I can’t say much beyond that other than that it’s a journey for her of an adolescent growing up to a really tragic adulthood. We change a lot in those years and we change what we want out of life; it’s a constant evolution.
Is it accurate to say that she’s found herself in a state of limbo, for lack of a better term, at least for the time being?
Definitely. She’s in limbo in that it’s going to take her some time to figure out how to live. The problem is the two people who are right there by her side, in the forms of Stefan and Damon have very different point of views on how she should adapt to it. Stefan, rightfully so, is terrified she will hurt someone and that she will not be able to deal with having hurt someone so he’s going to have to do everything in his power to keep her from getting herself into those situations. Damon, also rightfully so, is convinced that it’s inevitable that vampires hurt people; it’s what they do. He wants to “rip the band-aid off,” as he says in the second episode, and let it bleed. She’s, unfortunately, not getting the same advice from the two people she values most in the world. It’s going to make it more difficult for her.
By the end of the second episode, there are hints that Elena is leaning toward either the “Stefan way” or the “Damon way” of being a vampire. Will a situation arise in the future that forces her to pick?
Every time she thinks she’s made her way past the most recent hurdle, something’s going to happen that sets her back or sets her on a new path. She may think, “I can do this the way Stefan said” and have a setback, then she may embrace Damon’s point of view and have a setback. It’s a constant back and forth about what kind of person she is now that she’s a vampire, how she’s going to survive this and if she’s going to survive it.
The continued back and forth with Elena and the brothers is also representative of the triangle that has served as an undercurrent for the entire series. How will this affect the trio?
It’s a whole new Elena and it’s a whole new day. It’s a different dynamic between the three of them especially. Some people have to watch and wait.
Before Elena’s accident in the season finale, she picked Stefan, and early on in season four, she makes a decision about who she sticks by romantically. How does her choice affect future episodes and what does this mean for the other Salvatore?
If our fanbase has learned anything since watching the show from the beginning, things are constantly shifting, evolving, moving, coming back around and weaving through, and relationships are always growing. What is now may not be that way in two episodes or 10 episodes, or it may come back to be that way 10 episodes later. It’s all part of where these characters are, who they are, what they’re going through in their life and who they’re most bonded to at that moment.
The second episode featured a tribute to characters who have come and gone, as well as a very revealing – and human – moment for Damon. Why were those pivotal to include?
It was our way of tipping our hat, not only to everyone that we’ve lost on the show but to the Alaric (Matt Davis) character, who we wanted to make sure we got to properly mourn and say goodbye to before we moved into our new season and our new story. Also, to give a moment for Elena to say goodbye to her human life, for her to mourn herself because that’s it. In remembering all the people that they’ve lost, they’re able to let their grief come out, deal with it and move forward.
That specific Damon moment also reminded us that he doesn’t have many friends. How close does he get to having another friendship as rich as the one he had with Alaric?
It’s very important for us to have Damon have somebody that he’s that connected to. The question this year is: Who will that be? Will he be able to grow stronger with his brother? Will he be able to find a new wingman, a new team bourbon replacement? Will that person become Elena or somebody that we wouldn’t expect? He’s trying to mask it but he’s feeling a little lonely.
The first two episodes had their fair share of gut-wrenching moments. How many more should we expect?
Emotional moments? Oh god, always. There shouldn’t ever be an episode that goes by that doesn’t tug at your heart or put a knife through your heart. That’s the world we like to operate in: deep, deep pain; great, great love; and sad, sad tears. This season is very emotional and dark and light at the same time. Our characters are going to go through a lot. Elena, especially, will really be faced with very complicated and dark scenarios that she’s going to have to be really strong to get herself past.
What is her greatest challenge moving forward?
Her greatest challenge is not to become the self-fulfilling prophecy of a vampire who takes a life.
Matt’s (Zach Roerig) life was spared in the finale, and he pays it forward with Elena at an opportune time. What else can we expect for him?
Matt gets to be the human hero this season, definitely in the beginning. He’s tasked with earning the fact that he’s still alive. It’s a challenge he wants to rise to. On the romance level, he’s happily single right now given the fact that his most aggressive suitor is Rebekah (Claire Holt), who he can’t quite forgive for her running him off the road.
Any more flashback episodes to come?
We’ve got a flashback in episode four, another one in episode eight and I’m sure another one before the season is over.

(Gammal) intervju med Paul Wesley om säsongsfinalen

~ The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley has admitted that he "didn't buy" the shock ending to the third season.

The finale saw Wesley's character Stefan let Elena (Nina Dobrev) drown - and consequently turn into a vampire - after she asked him to save her friend Matt (Zach Roerig) instead.

However, Wesley has now told Digital Spy that he believes Stefan would have ignored Elena's requests in order to save her life.

Wesley explained that he was "confused" by the idea of the scene at first, but revealed that the writers had justified it by saying Stefan was "physically" unable to save Elena and was also learning to let her make her own choices.

"I don't buy it," he admitted. "I'll be completely honest. The writers are probably going to get mad at me! I don't buy it, but it is what it is and so we have to live with it.

"I personally think Stefan would have just went, 'I don't really care what the hell you have to say', and would have grabbed her - but it is a story and frustrating things happen in life and stories."

Wesley also revealed that he expects Stefan to "have a lot of guilt" and "blame himself" for Elena's transition, adding that her change into a vampire will make her "reassess" everything.

"I don't think it's going to be like, 'I'm picking Stefan and we're going to be happy now'," he said. "It's going to be a completely different show now, I think." ~

- Between the season-four promo and the web clip, we’re pretty sure most of you are with us on this fundamental question about The Vampire Diaries: Dear god, why doesn’t Elena want to become a vampire? Thankfully, VH1 Celebrity got the chance to talk to Nina Dobrev on the phone while she was in Toronto for the premiere of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and she gave us a list of all the drawbacks of being a vampire:
For one you can’t have kids, you will never be able to experience something for the first and last time, and I think Elena really wants to be normal, Dobrev told us. There’s so much chaos in her life, there’s so much death, and so much sadness, especially when you become a vampire all your emotions are heightened, so if it’s raining you all of sudden start bawling because you’re so sad that the clouds are out and the sun’s not out. If someone makes a moderately funny joke you erupt into hysterical laughter, so it’s almost like going through puberty again and your emotions. And I don’t think anyone wants to go through that again. Once was enough.
Hmm, we’d never thought of it that way. At the same time, the 23-year-old Degrassi alum has been going through the emotional turmoil of teenage life onscreen for quite some time now. Is she looking forward to graduating to adult roles sometime soon?

I’m going to ride this train as long as I can! she said. The thing is, as soon as you play an older role, then nobody can see you young again, so it’s a defining moment. So I’m going to keep doing it as long I can, as long as people believe me at that age range, and then when I can’t pass off anymore… But yeah, I do look forward to it someday. I want to do an action movie.
Nina said it’s too soon to tell whether she’ll get more action on TVD, but from what she can tell, It’s going to be a very character-driven season. You’re really going to get to be in Elena’s head and really experience and witness everything. Kind of like we did in the beginning, but in even more detail, and then we’ll as close as anyone has to seeing what it’s like to become a vampire. -

Phoebe Tokin om Hayley

Our excitement for Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries went to the nth degree when we learned that The Secret Circle’s Phoebe Tonkin would be joining the cast as Hayley. Little was known about the mysterious beauty — other than her connection to Tyler Michael Trevino ) — but that’s changed now that Phoebe has spoken with The Insider

“I like that she's a world traveler, a bit of a tomboy, pretty ballsy, and provocative, but not in the way Faye was on Secret Circle,” says Phoebe. “I mean, she went out to manipulate and see what should could gain from people. Hayley just doesn't have a filter. She didn't really have parental figures in her life, and I like that kind of a person. I like that she's tough and tries to keep up with the boys.”

Sheesh. Another Mystic Fallser without parents. What is it with this town and orphans?

One part of Phoebe’s interview that made us a little sad? We won’t see Hayley go toe-to-toe with Rebekah ( Claire Holt) . Claire and Phoebe haven’t had any scenes together, yet. “I think they're worried about us getting too excited and giggly on set,” Phoebe says.

Oh, those supernatural besties!

Om Klaus

‎3x21 Klaus was desiccated believed to be "dead" to the show until we knew Klaus was in Tyler's body (see 3x22)

But fear not! According to producers we will se the handsome brit JoMo again since Klaus' body wasn't fully burned after being staked. So look forward to his return when season 4 starts up!

Bonnie och Jeremy S4

The Vampire Diaries‘ Bonnie and Jeremy may no longer be a couple, but as you can see in this exclusive photo from the Season 4 premiere, they’re up to something pretty magical together.

Jer and his ex “are very bonded to each other,” executive producer Julie Plec previously told TVLine. “In spite of having found a piece of closure in their relationship, they will continue to be drawn to each other emotionally. Whether it’s romantic or not, I can’t really say.”

Well, nothing sets the mood like a bunch of candles and hand-holding, if you ask us. Check out the following sneak peek and then hit the comments with your thoughts on the spellbinding “reunion.”

Julie Plec om Esther

Vampires might have started with Esther (Alice Evans) in The Vampire Diaries cannon, but that doesn’t mean all magic did. For example, Ayanna (Maria Howell) was the one to teach the Originals’ mother how to do the spell that transformed Klaus(Joseph Morgan) , Rebekah(Claire Holt) , and the rest of their siblings into bloodsuckers.

Julie Plec made some interesting comments about Esther and the origins of magic at San Diego Comic-Con, and she teased more info to TV Guide.

In San Diego, Julie said, “We call her [Esther] the Original Witch, but where did she come from and who was before her and where did that spell come from to create the original vampires? That's actually a big question and something we'll be asking this year."

To TV Guide, Julie expounded, saying, “when Esther used that spell to make her children immortal, which created the Original vampires, that spell existed already. So who wrote it? That's the question that will remain a question in this season and possibly in the series. We dabbled with the Original vampires, but who were truly the Original witches?”

Does this mean there could be a separate line of vampires out there, and other witches with crazy spells — like one that can reverse vampirism?

The Vampire Diaries spoilers för säsong 4

It was business as usual when the cast and creators of The CW’s Vampire Diaries took the stage at Comic-Con Saturday afternoon: lots of hootin’ and hollerin’ from the crowd, lots of “Stelena” and “Delena” chatter and lots of scoop on Season 4.

Read on for highlights from the panel discussion, which included an update on the newly vampified Elena, talk of MIA Katherine and Alaric and much more.

FRESH FOOTAGE | Production on Season 4 has only just begun, but fans were treated to a (very) brief glimpse at the upcoming run. In one scene, Damon is slamming Matt up against a wall (probably mad that he was saved in the car crash), while in another, the bad(der) Salvatore brother tells Stefan: “Now the world has one more quarterback. Bravo, brother.”

SEASON 4 SCOOP | “Everything just feels so fresh; it feels new,” showrunner Julie Plec told the crowd. “It feels familiar in all the right ways, and it feels different, too. It’s a lot of deep, emotional and twisted stuff.” Season 4 will also delve further into the Wicca backstory –namely, who taught Original witch Esther everything she knows.

VAMPY WOMAN | “Elena was a badass girl, and now she’s a badass vampire girl and can take care of herself,” Ian Somerhalder discussed. “It’s going to add a really interesting dynamic between [Stefan, Damon and Elena]… and I think they’ll learn a lot together in a really short amount of time.” As for playing the newly turned Elena, Nina Dobrev mused, “How do you make Elena, the vampire, different from her [human] self? It’s going to be difficult, and I think it’s going to [depend on] her experiences… Everything’s going to be heightened and she’s constantly going to be struggling with what she is.”

BACK TO BASICS | Gone are the days of Damon trying to be a better man. “At this point, he’s tried,” Somerhalder shrugged. “He tried to be someone people wanted him to be, but bottom line is, he’s not.” Essentially, the actor shared, Damon will be saying, “I did everything you wanted me to do, and it didn’t work… And if you don’t like it, you can go bleep yourself.”

SOMETHING ABOUT A WOMAN IN UNIFORM…. | Zach Roerig pitched a new romantic interest for his poor lovelorn Matt. “I think that Sheriff Forbes might be a great companion,” he joked.

KATHERINE THE GRRRREAT | Plec shared that beloved baddie Katherine “will not show her little face until Klaus is no longer a threat.” As for when that might happen… we’ll have to wait and see.

FAMILIAR FACES | Although Matt Davis isn’t currently slated to return to TVD  as the late Alaric (he headlines The CW’s midseason drama Cult), “He definitely, contractually, has permission to appear,” Plec assured. “We certainly don’t like living in a world without Matt Davis in our family. It’s possible [he'll return], and something we would all like to see. ” Additionally, Torrey DeVitto’s Meredith will be back.
